Portfolio 3

Below you will find information on the companies in Portfolio 3, as of March 31, 2026.

This page includes sections on portfolio diversification, performance, and what the companies do and why they are in the portfolio.

Portfolio 3 continues to be broadly diversified, with exposure to ten of the eleven sectors, but its still very much defined by Technology and Financials. Alongside holdings in eight other sectors, the portfolio includes an index fund tracking the 500 largest publicly traded US companies, which helps smooth out some of the ups and downs. That said, because many of those top companies are in technology, the overall mix still leans heavily in that direction. In fact, Nvidia and Shopify have grown to make up more than half of the portfolio, highlighting just how concentrated the core positions remain.

There were a couple of changes this quarter. One position was sold after the company reported unexpectedly large loan losses, suspended its dividend and share buyback program, and pulled its financial guidance – never the kind of update you want to see as a shareholder. On the other side of the ledger, I added a new company tied to the rapidly growing space economy – leaning into that “final frontier” theme (Star Trek fans will appreciate that one 😊).

These moves have helped dial down some of the volatility. The portfolio is now much more tilted toward stability, with roughly 90% in large and mega-cap companies, while small caps have been trimmed down to just 3%. It’s still a concentrated portfolio, but one that’s gradually becoming a bit more balanced and resilient

Performance

Below is the list of the Portfolio 3 companies. Some you will recognize some you won't. Either way, I've included the company name, its trading symbol (also known as ticker), the currency used to purchase the shares, the gain or loss in share price since the shares were purchased (the average, in the case of multiple purchases), the total return (the gain or loss from the shares, plus any dividends) and the stock exchange it was purchased on. I have also shown what the company does, and why it was purchased (including how I categorize the company). In cases where a company's total return is greater than the gain or loss in share price, that is because the company pays a dividend.
