Portfolio 2

Below is the list of companies in Portfolio 2, as of March 31, 2026.

Also included are graphs to illustrate how the portfolio is diversified by sector and market capitalization.

Portfolio 2 is designed with balance at its core, holding at least one company in each of the eleven sectors. That broad exposure gives it a solid foundation, while still leaning into growth through larger weightings in Energy and Technology. Financials and Communication Services help round things out, offering a mix of steady earnings and long-term growth potential.

At the same time, there’s a clear focus on stability. Defensive positions in Consumer Staples, Real Estate, and Utilities act as a counterweight, helping smooth out volatility while providing a reliable stream of income through growing dividends. It’s a mix that aims to capture upside when markets are strong, without taking the full brunt when conditions get shaky.

During the first quarter, I added a small-cap company to the portfolio. While smaller companies can bring more volatility, this one stands out for its more established product base and growing recurring revenue. That combination adds growth potential while also providing a steadier, more predictable stream of cash flow—something I look for in growth-oriented companies. The goal here is to introduce a touch of higher growth potential without straying too far from the portfolio’s balanced approach.

Portfolio 2 Companies

Below is the list of the Portfolio 2 companies. Some you will recognize some you won't. Either way, I've included the company name, its trading symbol (also known as ticker), the currency used to purchase the shares, the gain or loss in share price since the shares were purchased (the average, in the case of multiple purchases), the total return (the gain or loss from the shares, plus any dividends) and the stock exchange it was purchased on. I have also shown what the company does, and why it was purchased (including how I categorize the company). In cases where a company's total return is greater than the gain or loss in share price, that is because the company pays a dividend.

Stocks traded on Canadian exchanges have the exchanges listed in red. Stocks traded on American exchanges have the exchanges listed in blue.
